Tips to Vacuum Your Dog

Many pet lovers like to keep dogs and cats at homes and in carpeted rooms. It is very usual that dogs shed hair on carpet even after brushing many times. Allergic and respiratory problems are caused due to pet hair in people. People keep on vacuuming carpet again and again in times of shedding but it is advised that people should vacuum the dog instead of surroundings. It will stop spreading hair in house. Here are some useful tips to vacuum your dog:

* Attach upholstery brush to hose of vacuum cleaner.

* Hold your dog’s collar, gently but firmly.

* Turn vacuum cleaner on and do strokes on dog’s back and follow direction of hair.

* Start vacuuming your dog from his back and move to belly and keep doing so for several minutes.

* Move on stomach, legs and neck.

* Appreciate your dog for his cooperation in vacuuming process and give some treat to your dog.

* If your dog has long hair, it will take 20-25 minutes in vacuuming your dog thoroughly.

* Avoid using high suction setting to vacuum your dog as it can damage his skin instead of pulling hair. Its loud sound can also frighten your dog.

* Avoid vacuuming its tail as dogs don’t like to be touched in this area.

  1. Interesting advice there. It's true that however much you vacuum your carpet, your pet will continue to cover it again. If you're allergic to pet hair it's also best to use a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter to trap the allergens
