Powder Carpet Cleaning

Carpet cleaning can be a simple and quick task if you use the right cleaning products. Unlike most foaming and liquid cleaning solutions that trap moisture inside the carpet, leading to the forming of mould and mildew, powder carpet cleaners effectively clean the carpet without moistening the carpeted area.

Here are some useful powder cleaning solutions recommended by carpet cleaning St John's Wood:
  1. Baking soda effectively removes odours from carpets, also it is inexpensive and easy to use which makes it very popular cleaning solution. Spread a light layer of baking soda onto the carpet and let it sit for around fifteen minutes before vacuuming it up. The baking soda absorbs odours without introducing moisture to the carpet.
  2. Baking powder is perfect for removing freshly occurred stains. When a spill occurs on the carpet, first use paper towels or old cloth to remove as much of the excess liquid as possible. Remember to blot the affected area, not to scrub it as this can damage the carpet fibers. Then mix one part cornflour with four parts of baking powder, and sprinkle 1-inch thick layer over the stain. Wait for several hours before vacuuming the powder.
  3. Carpet dry cleaning powder is another solution suggested by carpet cleaning St John's Wood to clean your carpet without introduction of water. It is perfect for cleaning the whole carpet thoroughly. Sprinkle the dry cleaning powder all over the carpet and use a cleaning brush to scrub it. When finished, vacuum the dry cleaning powder along with the dirt and residue.
